RULES & PROTOCOL
This is a good will tournament. Discourteous or unsportsmanlike behavior will not be tolerated. Each competitor may enter one kata,
one kobudo and one kumite division.
Traditional white gi/ uniform is required with sleeves and pant legs not rolled up but hemmed. Black gi top may be worn for kobudo competition.

- Groin and hand protectors are mandatory for all competitors, as well as chest protectors for female competitors.
- Helmets and body protection are optional but highly recommended for all competitions. If you chose not to wear a helmet a mouth
guard is mandatory.
- All traditional Okinawan weapons will be allowed for kobudo competition.
KATA
Karate Kata will be judged using the flag system. Should you advance to a next round, students green belt and above must perform
a different kata.
Kobudo Kata will be judged using the point system and a different kata is not required if there is a tie.
All traditional Okinawan weapons will be allowed.
KUMITE

Groin protection for males and hand protection and mouthguards are mandatory for all competitors.

Helmets are optional for all competitors but recommended for those under 18.

Chest protection is mandatory for all females and body protection is recommended for competitors
under 18 years.
ATHLETES WITH A DISABILITY
All athletes competing in this division must fill out the applicable registration form so that you can be assessed with a disability score. This form must be submitted no later than three days prior to the event.
